On October 29, 2025, in the “History” reading hall of the university library, a round table titled “Shoqan Walikhanov – the First Kazakh Scholar” was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Education and Humanities to mark the 190th anniversary of the great scholar’s birth.

An extensive book exhibition dedicated to Shoqan Walikhanov’s life and works was organized as part of the event. During the meeting, librarians presented the books displayed in the exhibition and shared fascinating information about the scholar’s travels.

PhD Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev and students of group TTA-211 took part in the discussion, where the lecturer shared interesting facts about Walikhanov’s biography, his contribution to Oriental studies, and his family life.

The round table was held in an engaging and informative format. At the end of the event, all participants took a commemorative photo by the exhibition dedicated to Shoqan Walikhanov.
